The Sunshine State
Florida offers contrasting summer experiences, from white-sand beaches and coastal resorts to famous theme parks. The Work and Travel program offers employment opportunities with employers in Destin, Pensacola, and Orlando. Destin is known for the Emerald Coast, its harbour, and water sports; the Pensacola area offers beaches and waterfront restaurants, while Orlando suits students who enjoy theme parks and city entertainment.
In Destin and the Pensacola area, you can find a second job in restaurants, hotels, shops, and tourist businesses. Orlando also has a broad hospitality and retail sector, but longer distances make transport an important consideration. A second job is not guaranteed: it must fit around your main schedule and receive your program sponsor’s approval before you start.
On days off, try kayaking or paddleboarding, explore Destin’s harbour, visit beaches around Pensacola, or budget for a day at Orlando’s attractions. Summers are hot and humid, so plan outdoor activities around the weather.
Where is it?
White-sand beaches, water sports, and coastal life in Destin and the Pensacola area.
Orlando brings theme parks, varied attractions, and plenty to do on days off.
Tourism creates potential second-job opportunities in restaurants, hotels, and shops, subject to a compatible schedule and sponsor approval.
After the program, combine beaches, cities, and nature parks in one trip.
After the program, explore Orlando’s theme parks, visit Miami and the Art Deco district of South Beach, experience Everglades National Park, or travel through the Florida Keys to Key West. Plan around your budget, the distances involved, and your permitted travel period.

Orange Veliko Tarnovo
I have been part of the Orange team for ten years. As a participant, I spent two unforgettable summers in Denali National Park, Alaska, where I met wonderful people and made many friends. After each summer I travelled widely, and San Francisco has stayed in my heart forever.
